CULTURAL HERITAGE

City Museum Požega

The City Museum building on the main city square is a unique example of 18th-century Baroque architecture, and is among the oldest houses in the city. It is unique for its recess, a niche located in the corner of the facade in which stands a statue of the Mother of God.

Požega House

The Požega House consists of a ground floor and a basement, both of which tell the story of the city’s rich tradition and history. In addition to the interpretive center for visitors, Požega House also features a unique souvenir shop. A walk through the city’s rich history will vividly showcase the development of the city, the life, and culture of the people of Požega throughout the centuries, while the "drunken bicycle" uniquely displays the natural riches of Požega.

Museum of Bećarac

The unique Museum of Bećarac is located in the unique Bećarac Square in Pleternica. It is a place where modern architecture and technology blend with local geographical features, history, and traditional intangible cultural heritage – Bećarac. Bećarac is a cheerful traditional ten-syllable song in two rhyming verses, originating from Slavonia, Srijem, and Baranja.

Terra Panonica

The Terra Panonica Interpretation Center in Pleternica invites you on an unforgettable journey 24 million years into the past. Here, you will explore the stories of ancient as well as present-day plant and animal species of the Požega-Slavonia County, which, just like all of Slavonia and many neighboring countries, were once covered by the Pannonian Sea.

House of the Pannonian Sea

The House of the Pannonian Sea is a visitor and educational center located in the village of Velika, and it tells one of the most fascinating geological stories of Papuk – the story of the long-gone Pannonian Sea.
